Experience Mr. Thomas Haag, P.E. is a Senior Vice President and our Director of Civil Engineering. Tom has over 32 years experience as a civil engineer responsible for design and construction of major heavy civil projects throughout the USA totaling $1 billion in construction value.

Prior to joining MM&A, Tom was Vice President of Procurement Services at Martin Marietta Materials, the nation.s second largest aggregate producer. In this position he was responsible for contracting $300+ million in capital construction, mobile equipment, fuel, explosives, services, and O&M supplies. Tom also participate in senior management level strategic initiatives such as a $30M+ railcar fleet expansion program and a value based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) capital project program.

Prior to joining Martin Marietta Materials, Tom was employed by Black & Veatch, an ENR Top 10 engineering and construction firm. Tom.s nearly 25 year career with Black & Veatch began as a staff civil engineer and progress through equal eight-year stints in their Energy Division's construction, engineering, and project management groups. His last assignment was as Project Manager for a $150 million design-build cogeneration power plant. His experience includes the design and construction of coal fired, gas fired, and hydroelectric plants. His specific technical expertise.s are: site and plant layout, power plant air quality control system design, geotechnical design, utility design, structural steel and foundation design, hydroelectric plant design, design of dams and associated hydraulic structures, site development engineering, stormwater water management system design, project and construction management, cost estimating, and project scheduling.
