Experience Mr. Almond has 33 years of experience and is currently responsible for consulting and engineering services in order to obtain state and federal mining related permits. He manages permitting projects from initial meetings with clients through final issuance by state and federal agencies while assuring budgets are met. Mr. Almond coordinates and performs consulting engineering services, including all aspects of environmental permitting, surveying, mine design, reclamation projects, hydrology studies, subsidence studies, pre-blast surveys and special projects.
Mr. Almond was previously responsible for obtaining and maintenance of all state and federal mining permits for a subsidiary of Pittston Coal, Inc. Planned, reviewed, advised and coordinated permitting process with numerous consulting firms. Managed reclamation, and special construction projects as needed. Responsible for acid mine drainage treatment and remediation for all refuse areas, surface and deep mines. SPCC contact person for Clay, Kanawha, Fayette and Nicholas County operations.
Mr. Almond was responsible for obtaining and maintenance of all state and federal mining permits for all Maben Energy, Inc. companies. Planned, reviewed, advised and coordinated permitting process with numerous consulting firms. Managed reclamation and special construction projects as needed. Contact person with state WVDEP Inspector to insure environmental compliance.
As a land agent, Mr. Almond was responsible for verifying monthly production totals for contract miners. Prepared monthly reports for lessees and negotiated and secured leases with land owners. Performed preliminary reserve studies on potential acquisitions.
