Experience Lewis Ernest is a licensed professional engineer in six states with over thirty years of civil engineering experience throughout the eastern United States.
Mr. Ernest's diverse experience has included involvement with an engineering structures organization, project engineering and project management of a wide variety of civil related projects, management of construction activities, and the management and operation of investigative engineering organizations. Throughout his career Mr. Ernest has had design and construction experience coupled with multi-disciplined investigative engineering activities.
At the outset of his career Mr. Ernest spent four years in a structures division, involved with the inspection, analysis, design and maintenance of bridge structures. He was also involved with the investigation of structural failure; as well as the analysis and design of repairs for structures.
During sixteen years in the mining industry Mr. Ernest was involved with the design and construction of a wide variety of civil engineering related facilities including site development, road systems, facility structures, materials handling/transportation/storage systems and refuse disposal/environmental facilities. In his various positions in the mining industry Mr. Ernest worked closely with safety departments in the investigation of failures and incidents and provided engineering insights to operations with a focus on health and safety.
Mr. Ernest was then involved with construction management of natural gas transportation and storage facilities for the next three years. In that management role he was able to combine his engineering design and construction experience to assure the successful completion of projects. His responsibilities also included the management of human resources as well as health and safety programs.
In the last ten years his engineering efforts have focused on the investigative/forensic arena, where he has been involved with over 1,000 multi-disciplined case assignments for the insurance industry, the legal community and the private sector. Mr. Ernest has used his diverse experience in the investigation of a wide variety of cases and in the support to other investigators. Most recently he has worked closely with environmental personnel on numerous indoor air quality investigations. Throughout his involvement with investigative engineering, his business education and experience has enabled a keen respect for his clients' interests, beyond the technical arena. His ability to understand and articulate technical engineering issues to insurance related individuals and litigation audiences has proved beneficial to MM&A’s clientele.
