Experience
Michael J. Miller, P.E., a petroleum engineer with more than 26 years of engineering and petroleum operations experience, provides clients with a full range of drilling, production and reservoir engineering services. Since 1988, he has been involved in all phases of coalbed methane (CBM) and coal mine methane (CMM) evaluation and development, including resource assessment, field development, production optimization, and well completion and gathering system design. Mr. Miller has assisted clients to determine the safest and most effective means to plug and subsequently mine through horizontal CBM wells. He also has worked on deep gas, secondary and tertiary oil recovery, gas storage, salt water disposal and environmental projects, and has extensive experience assessing and developing tight sandstone and organic shale reservoirs.
Prior to joining MM&A, Mr. Miller worked as a Production and Reservoir Engineer for Getty Oil Company, as a Senior Development Engineer for Texaco, as Engineering Manager and Vice President-Production for Equitable Resources, as Operations Manager for DTE Energy and AMVEST, and as an independent engineering consultant. He has directed the drilling and production operations of thousands of wells and the construction of gathering systems and other infrastructure. He has worked in many regions and on both domestic and international projects with particularly extensive experience in the Central Appalachian, Cherokee, Michigan, and Permian Basins.
