Bluefield, Virginia, U.S.A. Scott Keim, President of Marshall Miller & Associates, Inc. (MM&A) announced today that Dr. Peter J. Bethell has joined MM&A as an associate and Principal Mineral Processing Consultant. Peter will direct the mineral processing services associated with MM&As growing international project portfolio and lead a team of engineers and support staff in delivering services to a large client base. Peter has more than 30 years experience in senior management and technical functions in the fields of coal, gas, timber and industrial minerals both in the U.S. and internationally. He is a graduate of the Darden Business School Executive Program at the University of Virginia. His experience includes the proven ability to deliver increased profitability through maximizing processing plant circuit efficiency and coal market optimization including for Arch Coal Inc., Massey Energy Company, Cyprus Amax Coal and Pittston Coal Management Company. He is a recognized leader in the field of froth flotation and fine coal gravity separation and helped introduce spiral circuits and column flotation to the U.S. processing industry. Peter has been instrumental throughout his career in the design, construction and successful operation of more than 60 new and upgraded plants and has served as Director of Coal Preparation (Arch, Massey), Director of Western Operations, Lithgow, Australia (Cyprus Amax) and Vice President of Allied Operations (Cyprus and Pittston) , among other management positions. He has more than 50 publications to his name and was the 2011 winner of the Frank Aplan Award of the American Institute of Mining Engineers for his contributions to coal preparation.
