MM&A receives HUBZone certification Marshall Miller & Associates, Inc. (MM&A), recently received HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This qualifies MM&A as a preferred small business vendor eligible to bid on federal contract opportunities. To be classified as a HUBZone business, MM&A was required to meet a series of criteria set forth by the SBA. This includes being located in a HUBZone, being owned and controlled by one or more U.S. citizens, and having at least 35% of employees residing in a HUBZone.

The HUBZone Empowerment Contract program was enacted through the Small Business Reauthorization Act of 1997. This program fosters economic development in HUBZones by establishing preferences within the federal contracting network. Businesses obtaining HUBZone certification are given the opportunity to bid on federal contracts according to rules and procedures established by the SBA.
